HAPPY TO HELP
SYNOPSIS:
“A work-from-home IT guy embraces the gluttonous freedom of his low-accountability lifestyle, until one disturbing call rips him out of his comfort zone.”
APPROACH:
This is essentially a one-man black comedy with a poignant central theme, so I wanted the music to completely marry his emotional journey throughout, as well as highlight the dark, almost nihilistic comedy of the premise. In the beginning he sees himself as a sort of rockstar of his own world, and as it tumbles out of control we lose that quality and evolve into a reflective sincerity, beginning with mostly rock instrumentation and sound distortion, stripping it down as the story goes to mellow keys and ending with soft strings.
