JOHN E. HOPKINS

Growing up as an active performer, I've always had passion for the visceral effects of music when married with image and motion. When I decided that I wanted to know exactly how and why music affects people the way it does, I pursued a degree in Jazz Performance at Arizona State University, where I began my early composing, arranging and producing. After writing and producing two albums with The Brothers Cosmos in Phoenix, I decided to continue my career in the industry I grew up loving: Hollywood.
My love of film has been a part of me for as long as my passion for music has, and I believe the two mediums are synergistic in how we make sense of the human experience. Filmmakers and musicians are storytelling brothers and sisters; we are both here to serve one another, and to serve the audience.
In addition to being a creator of music, I am a self-proclaimed “Disco Historian & Enthusiast,” an avid golfer, jogger, reader and occasional Dungeon Master. I currently live in Gilbert, AZ with my amazing wife and our two children.
