LOGOS AND LITERACY (Chapter IX)
DESCRIPTION:
“Dr Jordan B Peterson leads us through the Museum of the Bible in this must-see documentary. He meets with experts in history, theology, and philosophy to uncover the rich history of the Bible and its continued relevance in shaping our beliefs and values.”
APPROACH:
This was a fascinating documentary presented in 9 chapters, and the director reached out to me to score the last of the chapter: “Chapter IX: The Bible’s Legacy.” This was an intriguing project, not just for the subject matter, but also because the director only gave me a short clip and general description to work from. It was an exercise in complete detachment from the visual presentation, and to only focus on scoring the essence of the film. It was my role to score the simple, rather organic and objectively profound impact of a book that spread literacy exponentially for those seeking enlightenment. I chose to use both organic elements of piano and strings along with synthesized elements to celebrate a feeling of the technology that, while primitive, played a large part in the mass distribution.
